Mighty Goliath Productions to Perfrom 'Ragtime' in 50th Season

2009 marks the 50th year of Mighty Goliath Productions, and the production to mark this banner year is the Tony Award-winning musical "Ragtime."

Shows are Friday, Feb. 27, 2009; Saturday, Feb. 28; Sunday, March 1; Friday, March 6; and Sunday, March 7, at the Avon Lake Performing Arts Center. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m., and the Sunday matinee begins at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Jan. 30 at local venues, including The Press, at the door on the nights of performances and online through MGP's website at www.mightygoliath.com. Tickets purchased before opening night are $9 for students and seniors and $13 adults. Prices thereafter are $11 for students and seniors and $15 for adults.

All alumni are invited to join the company for a special reception celebrating our 50 successful years, to be held immediately following the March 1st matinee performance.

MGP is a musical-theater company that contributes funds toward the performing arts programs of the Avon Lake City Schools (Website | Profile), and has donated more than $146,600 in proceeds. Throughout its 50 consecutive seasons, more than 2,000 people have volunteered their time and talent. The MGP board thanks the community for their generous and continued support throughout the past 50 years, and hopes that everyone will be able to join them in making this another memorable season. All ages are invited to come to the second rehearsal, Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at 7 p.m. in the Avon Lake High School choir room. A highly diverse cast is sought for this production, which is rated PG-13.
