MGP Long-Time Members Take the Lead
Mighty Goliath Productions is preparing their 2007 production "Anything Goes" (April 19, 20, 21, & 22). Cast in 2 of the major roles are Avon Lake native Bernadette Hisey and Avon Lake resident Casey Wolnowski. Both actors are in their 26th production with MGP. However, their involvement has been in different capacities.
Casey, a retired art teacher from the Avon Lake Public Schools, has been seen most recently as Jeff Douglas in "Brigadoon" and as Captain E. J. Smith in "Titanic". Casey's current role is Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, an aristocrat who is engaged to younger girl, Hope Harcourt. His character sings the famous Cole Porter tune "Let's Misbehave." Casey has been involved both on stage and off stage with MGP having started as a set painter and having done 3 years as the director. Casey has also been seen on the stages of Cassidy Theater (Parma), Clague Playhouse (Westlake), Huntington Playhouse (Bay Village), Elyria Summer Theater, and Lorain Community Musical Theater where he has also held the position of director.
Bernadette was raised in Avon Lake as a 2nd generation member of the company. Both of her parents (Noel & Fran Ilg) were involved in the early 60's and both of her children have been involved as 3rd generation members. She will be playing the role of Reno Sweeney, a retired evangelist turned night club singer. Her character will be singing "Friendship", "Anything Goes", "I Get a Kick Out of You", "Blow, Gabriel, Blow", and "Take Me Back to Manhatten." Most recently, Bernadette has been either the drama director or chorus director for MGP. She is also the historian and marketing manager of the company. She has also been the choreographer, pit director, and accompanist. She has also been seen on the stages of JCC/Tri-C East, Cassidy Theter (Parma), CAMEO Productions (Medina), and Lorain Community Musical Theater. She is an elementary music teacher in the Lakewood Public Schools and resides in Elyria.
