MGP 2027 Director Call

Mighty Goliath Productions is now accepting director pitches for our 2027 season.

Each year, MGP brings together over 100 performers, musicians, and volunteers to create a large-scale, fully inclusive musical production. As a no-cut program, we are committed to providing opportunities for performers of all experience levels while building a strong, supportive community through theatre.

MGP is a fully volunteer-driven organization. All roles- directors, performers, musicians, and production staff- are unpaid. What makes this experience so meaningful is the collaboration, creativity, and shared passion that drives the entire process.

We are seeking directors who are excited not only about choosing a show, but about leading a large, diverse group of volunteers through a thoughtful and organized production process.

What to Expect

Directors may pitch up to three shows that:

  • Are family-friendly and appropriate for a community audience

  • Allow for flexible casting with a large ensemble

  • Have performance rights available

For your top choice, you will also be asked to share a vision packet that outlines why this musical speaks to you, why it is a good fit for MGP, and how you will bring it to life. These materials do not need to be final or polished. They are meant to demonstrate your approach to storytelling, leadership, and planning.

Pitch Meeting Details

The director's pitch meeting will take place on:

Friday, May 15 from 6:00–10:00 pm
St. Joseph’s Parish
32929 Lake Rd, Avon Lake, OH

Each director will be scheduled for a 30-minute time slot.

How to Apply

To be considered, please complete both steps:

  1. Email auditions@mightygoliath.com with your preferred pitch time

  2. Complete the interest form: https://forms.gle/V4ny4AckUhpfRHJz9

Once we receive your information, we will confirm your time slot and send you the full pitch requirements, including guidance for your vision materials.

Final Thoughts

Directing an MGP production is a unique opportunity to lead a large-scale, community-driven show while creating a meaningful and inclusive experience for all involved.

We look forward to seeing the ideas, creativity, and leadership our prospective directors bring to the 2027 season.
