What excited you most about working on this year’s show?
Every year is a chance to do a better job than we did last year; to fix mistakes and to make the experience better for our participants. I'm always excited by the blank page that a new production represents. It's all potential at the beginning. My favorite part of every show is when we finally get to build and decorate what will be seen on stage. I enjoy the challenge of finding solutions to the problems that arise, and coming up with creative things we haven't used before.
What’s your theater origin story?
It's dumb. I was dating a girl who got the lead in the high school play, and I wanted to spend more time with her.
What’s a memorable or funny moment from a past show you’ve worked on?
I nearly ruined Beauty and the Beast by ripping the zipper from the back of Belle's ball gown right before she went on stage. She asked me to make sure it was all the way up, and it came off in my hand.
What’s a hidden talent you have that has nothing to do with theater?
I'm a pretty good cook.
What’s one item you always have in your bag during rehearsals or tech week?
Rehearsals: acetaminophen Tech: tools
What’s your favorite backstage superstition or tradition?
I'm a fan of the ghost light.
